It was a perfect weekend for our senior sides with three teams in action and three wins. The 2XV kicked things off on Saturday with an excellent home victory over Beccehamians, before the Women’s 1XV secured a thrilling, hard fought win against Folkestone on Sunday. Meanwhile the Men’s 3XV battled to an impressive 12-21 away victory, keeping them top of the league for another week.
A brilliant effort across the board - three teams, three wins, and a fantastic weekend for the club!
1XV WOMEN | SRFC 25-24 Folkestone
On Sunday, Sevenoaks Women faced Folkestone Ladies in a top-of-the-table clash. The reverse fixture had been a tight contest, with Folkestone winning 12–7, so we knew to expect another fiercely competitive match. Folkestone opened the scoring, but Oaks soon took control of the first half, producing the best rugby this group has played so far. Their dominance created a gap on the scoreboard, and they went into the break firmly in the ascendency.
The second half was much tighter, with Folkestone fighting back and narrowing the score with a few tries. In the end, after a thrilling contest, Oaks held on to secure a 25–24 victory.
This weekend we face Lordswood, who sit third in the table, and it promises to be another cracking match.
