Welcome to the Centenary Celebration of Sevenoaks RFC - a proud milestone marking 100 years of rugby and community. Since being founded in 1925 at Hitchin Hatch Lane, Sevenoaks RFC has grown into a thriving and inclusive club. From the introduction of the Mini & Youth section in 1978, to the emergence of a women’s section in 1992, to our promotion into the National Leagues in 2022/23 - we are incredibly proud of how far we’ve come.
We are very lucky to have incredible members that have helped us get to where we are today, ranging from members, players, staff & volunteers. To find more information out about the history of the club and to read more about our journey over the past 100 years, please click HERE.
We are very excited to start our Centenary season. Celebrations are already underway…
Centenary Golf Day - Wednesday 4th June 2025
In June, we continued the celebrations for our centenary year in style, with the clubs first ever Golf Day held at Sweetwoods Golf Club.
The overall winning team were awarded the Lee Adamson Trophy, which was first introduced at the Oaks Golf Society in 2020 to represent togetherness created through difficult times, the rugby club that brings us together, and most importantly a tribute to Lee Adamson - forever a mighty oak.
Congratulations to our winners: Michael Wooldridge, Roger McKerlie, Trevor Nicholson, Phil Hamilton.
Centenary City Lunch - Wednesday 26th March 2025
In March 2025, we kicked off our Centenary Celebrations with an unforgettable Centenary City Lunch, hosted at Balls Brothers Minster Court with over 100 guests joining us for what turned out to be a fabulous day!
Following the delicious three-course meal consisting of Mighty Oak Smoked Salmon, Steak, Chocolate Tart and Cheeseboards we were treated to valuable, interesting and funny insights from legends of the game: Tom May, Craig Chalmers, and Robert Jones.
Aztech Acorns
Aztech generously donated a beautifully carved piece of oak with our centenary logo on, which now stands proudly inside our clubhouse. This thoughtful gesture is just one example of their long-standing support as sponsors of the club.
In July 2024, Aztech also donated our Mighty Oak Acorn, that can be found by the entrance to the 1XV pitch. Pictured below are Adam Ashworth (owner of Aztech) and Ian Burmeister (member of the 23/24 Senior Men’s playing squad) both with the acorn.
Centenary Logo
What does our Centenary logo represent? An acorn - to represent our mighty heritage. A modern leaf - symbolising future growth. The leaves are arranged like open arms to symbolise family. The centenary logo is a direct tribute to an iconic and retro look.
Pictured below is Willy Pickance, wearing one of the ‘old-school’ sweatshirts that helped to inspire our new centenary logo.
