Last week, both our Women’s 1XV and Men’s 3XV secured impressive away victories at Beckenham RFC. Although the Men’s 1XV were unfortunate not to come away with the win against Barnes RFC, spirits remained high at The Paddock for our annual Ladies Day celebrations.

1XV MEN | SRFC 8-10 Barnes

It was a game decided by the smallest of margins, played in tough conditions that tested both sides from start to finish. The effort shown throughout was outstanding, with everyone battling until the final whistle. While it’s disappointing to come away without the win, the determination and resilience on display are something to be proud of.

1XV WOMEN | Beckenham 0-19 SRFC

Sunday saw the Women’s 1st team travel to Beckenham. Despite a convincing home win earlier in the season, we knew that this wouldn’t be a walkover on their turf. With a strong home crowd Beckenham put up a strong fight and certainly made us earn our points. We gave it our all and making use of our rapid backs line up managed to keep a clean sheet in a 0-19 win.

In the final twenty minutes of the game, everything clicked as we gained momentum and pushed play into their half with strong support and clear intent. Building pressure through determined carries and teamwork, we drove at their defence and powered our way across the gain line for a well-earned breakthrough.
