Support the Sevenoaks Rugby Club Centenary Fund: Honouring the Past, Seeding the Future
As Sevenoaks Rugby Club proudly celebrates its Centenary Year, we invite you to be part of this historic milestone by supporting our Centenary Fund — a tribute to 100 years of community, commitment and rugby excellence.
We would like to say a huge thanks to Elbow Beach Capital for kickstarting the Fund with a very generous donation and in addition a private donor who has helped the Fund hit the ground running.
For a century, Sevenoaks Rugby Club has been at the heart of our town, playing rugby, creating lifelong friendships, and growing generations of players. The Centenary Fund will honour this legacy while laying the foundation for our next 100 years.
Your support of the Fund will be an investment in our future and will help us:
Strengthen and expand our facilities
Provide 4G and astro training for Juniors and Academy players
Sustain our community outreach programme in local schools
Deliver a structured coaching programme for our mini and junior coaches
Maintain high-quality medical cover for our Senior teams, Academy and Sunday Minis/Juniors
Continue to grow women’s and girls’ rugby, including the successful launch of our 2nd XV Women
Support youth development across our Minis, Juniors, and Academy sections
Ensure long-term financial stability for the Club
Over the past five years, the costs of delivering rugby across all age groups and senior men’s and women’s rugby have risen significantly. This is due to inflation, expansion of our offering and striving to give our best talent the opportunity to play the sport at the highest level we can achieve as a Club.
As a result, the Club is breaking even or, most years, running at a loss. Your contribution to the Centenary Fund will help us close this gap and secure the future we all believe in.
We’re also proud to reflect on our recent on-field successes:
1st XV Men promoted twice, now competing in National 2 for three consecutive seasons
2nd XV Men and 3rd XV Men both earning promotions in their leagues
1st XV Women continuing to go from strength to strength, enabling the introduction of a 2nd XV Women
Academy crowned Kent Cup champions or runners-up in four of the last five years
A thriving Minis and Juniors programme delivering grassroots rugby to hundreds of children
The Centenary Year is our chance to celebrate everyone who made this possible, players, coaches, volunteers, committees and supporter.
Please consider making a donation to the Centenary Fund in the name of your business, family, or friends. Every gift, large or small, will leave a lasting legacy for future generations. You can contact Emily Burns / Nick Thompson / Michael Wooldridge to pledge your support.
Look out for our “Memories and Thank You” wall going up in the Clubhouse, celebrating those who have given. Please stay tuned for more Centenary events and initiatives that will bring us together in pride, purpose and celebration.
Thank you for helping us honour the past and seed the future.
