It was a fairly quiet weekend for the club, with only 2 of the 5 senior teams being in action. The Men’s 1XV made the trip to Guernsey whilst the Men’s 2XV hosted Old Elthamians RFC at The Paddock. Despite plenty of effort, neither side came away with the result we were hoping for. There were plenty of positives to take away from the games that we will continue to build on. With a focused week of training ahead, the squad is determined to respond in the right way and head into this weekend stronger.

1XV MEN | Guernsey 21-12 SRFC

Unfortunately our attack execution was poor in our away fixture to Guernsey, resulting in errors throughout the first half of the game. We are reviewing these errors this week at training and are looking forward to hosting Barnes at The Paddock on Saturday.

2XV MEN | SRFC 21-26 Old Elthamians

Our set piece was really solid throughout the game, where the scrum and line out retained possession very well. It was a good defensive effort from the team, however we just made a few wrong reads that cost us points.
