HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST WEEKEND

  • Well done to all the U8s and U9s that travelled to Beccehamians last Sunday.

  • This weekend the Under 10s and 11s travelled to Old Colfeians for a fantastic festival.

As ever, the teams did us proud and continued to play quality rugby and demonstrate the RFU and Club values.

The teamwork on the pitch was only bettered by the spontaneous, player led rendition of “Oh when the Oaks” off the pitch - which is still resounding around SE London, now!

  • At the weekend, our U8s, 9s, 10s and 11s all sent teams to Tunbridge Wells who hosted a fantastic event.

Check out the video (left) for a few clips of the day - the highlight being Molly from under 11s, ripping the ball from an opposition player and bursting through a few more tackles to score a try. Great work Molly!

This was the first festival of 2022, and a great way to kick off!

  • The Under 12 Boys trained with our friends at Tonbridge Juddians and Tunbridge Wells on Sunday.

Playing mixed teams resulted in mixed results - with a couple of wins, a couple of draws and a couple of losses - but did help identify development opportunities.

Most importantly, however, the boys had a great time (in spite of the weather!).

  • The U13 boys also enjoyed a successful trip down the A21, with a mixed team securing a victory 8-3.

  • The U14s took 40 players to Vizards on Sunday.

After last week’s strong performance against Tunbridge Wells, the 14s were a little more disjointed performance across two 20 minute games, but nonetheless enjoyed themselves (albeit the Coaches may not have enjoyed the earlier start!)

  • The U15 boys hosted TJs on our 1st XV pitch in front of a busy crowd on the decking.

The match was closely fought by two strong teams who both brought phenomenal performances.

The Might Oaks ended up victorious, after digging deep and making the supporting home crowd (and coaches) proud.

  • The U15 girls had a terrific time hosting a number of girls from TJs ahead of combining forces for their Kent League match next week.

Preparation went well and its certainly a game to watch this weekend.

ENGLAND UNDER 20s MIGHTY OAK

We are really pleased that Tori Sellors - a Mighty Oak - has been selected to play for England U20s against Scotland this Saturday.

Tori started playing rugby at Sevenoaks in our mini section and played all the way through the minis and youth girls. She was part of the successful A21 team (Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells) that played in the National Cup Finals.

We wish Tori all the best on Saturday!
