We are really pleased to confirm that we’ve officially had confirmation from the league secretary that our 3rd XV have secured promotion from Counties 4 to Counties 3 following last Saturday’s win against Cliffe RFC. This is a brilliant achievement and a reflection of the hard work, consistency and commitment shown right across the season. A huge congratulations to James Anderson, and to everyone in the Senior Squad who has played a part in this excellent achievement - it’s been a proper collective effort and one you should all be proud of. But we’re not finished yet. We look forward to finishing it off in style by winning the league!

It was a cracking game against OA’s last Saturday. The boys showed real intent and played some fantastic attacking rugby. Congratulations to Harry Alexander who scored a try on his National League 2 debut for the club!

1XVWOMEN | SRFC 56-0 Beccehamians

On Sunday, an injury-hit women’s team travelled to Beccahamians for a crucial match to maintain pressure at the top of the league table. The game got off to the perfect start with a quick try following strong pressure from the kickoff, and from that point on the lead never looked under threat. Our attack repeatedly pushed deep into their half, while relentless defensive pressure kept them on the back foot throughout. The Oaks ultimately secured a well-deserved 0–56 victory.

2XVMEN | SRFC 12-26 Ashford RFC

Our Scrum and lineout functioned well and on the first half when we created momentum we looked dangerous. Unfortunately, we cam up short against Ashford who produced a spirited come back in the second half.

3XVMEN | SRFC 63-12 Cliffe RFC

Mighty Oaks 3rd XV faced Cliffe at home at The Paddock in a top-of-the-table clash that could prove decisive in the race for top spot. With Cliffe holding a game in hand, it was crucial that Oaks secured the win.

From the outset, it was clear this would be a contest defined by physicality and determination. Oaks struck early, taking the lead almost straight from the whistle, and never looked back. Their defensive effort was relentless, repelling wave after wave of hard-hitting Cliffe attacks before swiftly moving the ball wide to unleash their backs on the opposition defence.

Backed by a strong home crowd, the 3rd XV grew in confidence as the game progressed, pulling away on the scoreboard. Their dominance was reflected in a convincing 63–12 victory, taking them one significant step closer to securing top spot by the end of the season.

With a number of players worthy of Man of the Match, the honour ultimately went to George Rehbein, who, despite his young age, delivered a faultless 80-minute performance at fly-half.
