Saturday 24th January:
Welcome back to the Senior Weekend Summary Blog! You join us in 2026 following on from the first three weekends of the season. It has been a challenging start to 2026 for our Men’s 1XV, but we have had some very positive results from our other senior teams. See how our Men’s sides got on this weekend below:
1XV MEN | Bury St Edmunds 49-24 SRFC
It was a hard fought one point away from home against Bury St Edmunds this Saturday. An improved second half performance helped us stay in the game allowing us to leave with the point. We are all looking ahead to London Welsh this Saturday, following a sold our pre-match Past Player’s lunch
Player of the Match: Matthew Engelbrecht
2XV MEN | Charlton Park 7-36 SRFC
Great result away at Charlton Park. Our Scrum had dominance and our strike moves from scrums and ability to get the ball to an edge was the real difference, we fronted up very well defensively. A good performance against a team that had potential to cause us some issues.
Player of the Match: Alex Kevan
3XV MEN | SRFC 40-10 Bromley
Another really strong all round performance for our 3XV. The forwards dominated the set piece and our discipline was much better than in previous weeks, conceding a limited number of penalties in each half.
Player of the Match: Jon Barber
