Sevenoaks Rugby 5 – 27 Dorking RFC

Sevenoaks Rugby can rue its missed opportunities, especially in the first half, meanwhile plaudits to Dorking RFC for a comprehensive 5-27 bonus point victory down at Knole Paddock on Saturday 8 March 2025. Man of the Match Finn Osborne bagged a hat trick for Dorking and indeed opened the scoring. From a scrum just on the Sevenoaks five-yard line, he barged over the line with a pick and go from the back.

Sevenoaks then took the game to Dorking, pressing their line and ill discipline saw a sequence of Dorking yellow cards. First Oaks were held up over the line and then a knock-on with the line at their mercy saw another chance go begging. Dorking had the ascendancy into the final exchanges of the opening half and some good movement through the phases resulted in Theo Williamson finding space on the wing for a second Dorking try as the teams headed into the sheds with the home side 0-10 behind.

Unfortunately for Oaks the second half followed a similar pattern. Pressing by the home side from the start of the second half came to ought and then Dorking hit back. First from a strike move off a set piece, returning prolific winger Toby McRae went over in the corner. This seemed to take the wind from the Oaks sails, and when Osborne went over for his second then his third try, which George Jackson converted, the result and the bonus point were in the bag.

Credit to Oaks for continuing to battle hard and finally Jacob Ivell went over for the navy and gold.
