Saturday 6th December/ Sunday 7th December:
With the Men’s 2XV and 3XV fixtures called off, all eyes were on the Men’s 1XV and Women’s 2XV in their away fixtures last weekend. Although we had one win and one loss, they were both great games of rugby showcasing great plays and determination on the pitch.
1XV MEN | Oundle RFC 41-36 SRFC
The squad set off bright and early for Oundle Away on Saturday, stopping at Birchanger for essential refuelling before everyone took part in Bowman’s legendary ‘coach quiz’ - eventually crowning Benjy Hewitt and Matt Engelbrecht as the undisputed winners of the Oundle Away Coach Quiz.
The game itself started with real intent from the Mighty Oaks, but a disciplined Oundle side managed to get points on the board in a game filled with yellow cards, penalty tries, and a late surge from SRFC that nearly stole us the victory.
In the end, we couldn’t quite snatch the win, but we did come away with two bonus points - we are now focused on our home game against Oxford Harlequins this Saturday. It would be great to have your support at The Paddock!

2XV WOMEN | Win Away Against Faversham (Inner Warrior)
The Women’s 2nd team took off down the A2 to play Faversham away on Sunday in an Inner Warrior game. It was a very wet day with lots of other games being cancelled but luckily we got the game on.
Sevenoaks started well with us scoring in the first few minutes. We were never put under much pressure as our defence was solid and our attack went round the edges. Faversham were great hosts and we wish them well for the rest of the season.
