On an overcast day the U13 girls arrived at Ashford and started some training drills in mixed sessions with a decent number of girls from other local clubs. Shortly after the girls split into teams for some full-blooded games and a well represented U13 contingent from Oaks (I counted 6) were joined by a few players from other clubs to play back-to-back games against other mixed teams. The girls did well and managed to win both of their games and some good rugby was on show in both defence and attack. Following this the girls were put through their paces on a rugby themed assault course although Anne-Marie did say that it was easy (!) and all seemed to enjoy the day. Luckily the weather held up well despite forecasts of heavy rain!
Well done to Libby and Imogen for catching the eye of the judges and winning the rugby balls presented by Shaunagh and Giada from Harlequins Women and thanks to all at Ashford for a well organised, fun day and for the err...pens! Well done to all the U13 Oaks girls.
