Saturday 22nd November/ Sunday 23rd November:
The Mighty Oaks sides battled it out in challenging conditions over the weekend. It was a mixed bag of results with half of the senior teams securing a win, including the Men’s 1XV against a top of the table OA’s side. Read below to see how everyone got on!
1XV MEN | SRFC 45-12 Old Albanian
We served up 80-minutes of total rugby to outplay visitors and National League Two East leaders, Old Albanian RFC in securing a bonus-point victory last Saturday. At a bracing, windswept Knole Paddock, Oaks used all their nous and playing capabilities to keep OAs at bay from start to finish.

1XV WOMEN | Folkestone 12-5 SRFC
The game away at Folkestone didn’t disappoint with Sevenoaks having the majority of the field position but not converting our opportunities. As Sevenoaks were knocking on the door of the try line and only 5 metres out, Folkestone managed a turnover and sprinted 95 metres down the rugby pitch to score for the opening try after 20 minutes. After the restart, Sevenoaks once again put the pressure on and a penalty resulted in a kick to the line which Sevenoaks caught and set up a fantastic rolling maul from 10 metres out to score. The conversion was missed but took the score to 7-5. After half time both teams traded blows and the game was evenly poised but Folkestone slowly made their way down the pitch and their forwards relentlessly pressed and finally scored giving them a 12-5 lead, which in the end was the final score.
Sevenoaks now sit 4th in the league, 6 points behind league leaders Lordswood. Next match is at home on Sunday 14th December against Beccehamians. All the support would be greatly appreciated.

2XV MEN | Beccehamians 41-19 SRFC
Although we had good set pieces, this was a game of far too many penalties and a lack of urgency to take control of the game. We are looking forward to our next challenge next week as we play Ashford at home.

3XV MEN | SRFC 26-5 KINGS COLLEGE HOSPITAL
The 3XV put in a clinical performance in testing conditions against Kings College Hospital coming away 26-5 victors! The performance was one of the side’s most complete this season with a combination of disciplined defence and controlled attack led by Oaks veteran, Jonny Barber, who benefitted from a rock solid platform provided by an experienced pack.
