Saturday 18th/ Sunday 19th October

This weekend saw the return of Charlie Naismith who came back to play alongside fellow teammates in the 3XV, which was also coincidently the only senior fixture to end in a win. It wasn’t to be for the Men’s 1XV & 2XV and for the Women’s 1XV. However there was some great individual performances and team effort demonstrated from all. Spirits were high off the pitch as we celebrated Oktoberfest in the clubhouse after the game… and before kick off with Diane’s lovely Oktoberfest themed pre-match lunch!

1XV WOMEN | Lordswood 12-7 SRFC

The Women’s 1XV travelled to Lordswood for their first away game of the season, and lead 12-7 until the 75th minute when Lordswood scored a try, against the run of play, to level the game and kicked the conversion to win.

2XV MEN | Old Elthamians 60-34 SRFC

The Men’s 2XV unfortunately couldn’t take the win against a well organised Old Elthamians who had some great game management. The 2XV’s did show some impressive attacking play and had a determined work rate. We look to carry this forward to our next league game after the break.

3XV MEN | SRFC 46-29 Beckenham

The Mighty Oaks 3XV took on Beckenham in their first home game of the season. The 3s took early control of the game with hard hitting defensive plays combined with wide attacking play, a combination that the opposition couldn’t overcome despite always sniping at Oaks’ heels until the final whistle. Man of the match went to Jon Bongo who snatched 4 tries on the wing to help secure the win.
