With the announcement earlier this month that Sevenoaks RFC have expanded their senior playing offering to running four regular Saturday sides, Head Coach Adam Bowman has added Chris Bright to his team to support with the management of the 3rd XV.
On the appointment of Chris, Bowman said ‘I’m really pleased that Chris has accepted to take on the role of managing the 3rd XV. Chris has been a real leader in the 3rd XV group for the past couple of seasons now and it’s great to be able to add his experience to the coaching and management group. Chris will oversee all 3rd XV matters and ensure that the we continue to provide an environment for all senior players to prosper and enjoy their rugby.’
Bowman continued ‘We have focused on building a competitive squad over the past year or so, ensuring that every player has the opportunity to perform in a competitive environment and also allow them to play at the highest level they wish to play at. Chris will ensure that we have feedback on how players are performing and progressing in the 3rd XV, which will provide the pathway and opportunity for those players that want to progress their rugby. Most importantly, Chris will ensure that the environment is an organised and enjoyable one and I’m really looking forward to working with him and seeing the impact he is going to make.’
On his new role, Chris Bright said ‘I’m absolutely delighted to take on the running of the 3rd XV. It’s been great to see the expansion of the senior group and the growth in number of players across senior rugby. Having been involved in the running of the 3rd XV last year with Pip (Woolcott) and James (Anderson), I believe my experience will put me in good stead to ensure that the players are welcomed into an enjoyable and competitive environment. We had a good startand the challenge now is to build on that result and performance. I know the coaching and systems that Adam and his team have put in place for the past year are feeding down the Club – as we go through the season, that will only improve and I’m really excited about how the 3rd XV are going to perform this year.’
