It was a bright, sunny and calm Winter's morning for the U15 Girls'
matches at Beckenham RFC.
There was a good turnout and the girls were in high spirits as they
poured out onto the pitch.
Due to the numbers, it was decided that there would be three short matches.
The first was between Tunbridge Wells and Beckenham.
There was a strong start by Beckenham who dominated most of the match.
Tunbridge Wells put up a good fight, but the home team had a couple
of really fast players, who managed to take advantage and went on to score
four tries, with no score from the visitors. Score 19 - 0
The second match was between Sevenoaks and Beckenham. Sevenoaks had a strong opening and looked promising with some great passes and steals. However, Beckenham came back and managed to score a try and conversion and Sevenoaks failed to score. Score 7 - 0
The final match was Sevenoaks v Tunbridge Wells with a mix of Beckenham players on each side. This was a lively match with excellent tackling and scrums from both sides.
Eventually, Sevenoaks managed to score a try in the second half, followed by a great conversion by Izzy Jaques, whose kick launched the ball against the top of the right hand post deflecting between the two posts to success. Score 7 - 0 to the Sevenoaks mixed team.
There was the usual good cameraderie between players in all the teams, with a celebratory arch formed to congratulate the teams on some great rugby.
