The newly crowned Late Red 3 Champions, Sevenoaks RFC 3rd XV, hosted the Met Police at the Paddock on Saturday afternoon, with the match being played in memory of PC Keith Palmer, who so tragically lost his life whilst guarding the Palace of Westminster on Wednesday 22nd March.
The match was proceeded by a minute's applause and both teams wore black armbands in PC Palmer's memory.
Whilst the final score read 31-21 in Oaks favour, the most important result was the news that players, supporters and members of both sides had raised £900 in memory of PC Palmer from fundraising throughout the day.
The money raised will be donated to all the Emergency Services deployed on the day of the Westminster Terror attacks.
Our thoughts and condolences go to PC Palmer's family, friends and colleagues. We also offer our best wishes to those officers injured after being run over during the attack on Westminster Bridge and who remain critically ill in hospital.
