SAVILLS FUN DAY

After a great first weekend, with the 1st XV  securing a win and a successful  first training  session for the mini and youth section - week 2 brings the first session for our youngest Oaks - the Under 5s on  Saturday   and the annual Savills Family Day on Sunday.

SAVILLS  FAMILY DAY - ICE CREAM, ICE COLD  DRINKS AND BOUNCY FUN

Members of Savills Sevenoaks will be around the Club to meet  and  greet everyone.  As our headline sponsor, Savills have committed a HUGE 5 year sponsorship deal, supporting us well in to the future.  Without partners like Savills, we couldn't deliver Rugby as we do, so please speak to them if you are in the market to sell your home and for every sale made for a member, they donate yet more money to us as a club!

The Bouncy Castle and  Ice Cream Van have been booked to be on site to give the kids some  entertain and make sure you enjoy a cold refreshment from the Bar or a mouthwatering bacon and/or sausage bap from the  Kitchen.

UNDER  5s - OUT OF TINY ACORNS  TO MIGHTY OAKS GROW

We’re excited  for our Under 5s  to be starting  their season this weekend, with Paul Vickers - who has coached throughout the age groups already and played for  the Oaks and Acorns for  a number  of years - set to  take the helm. We wish the Under 5s the very best of luck on their first outing and welcome them to  the Club.

THE RUGBY WORLD CUP HAS FINALLY ARRIVED

It’s time to paint your face, pull on that retro rugby shirt and warm up those vocal chords as we support our Home Nations (other National teams are available) through their group matches. Don’t miss the action - come down to the Rugby Club to watch it Live on big screens with refreshments and great company. There’s bound to be the odd controversy and what better place to dissect and exchange the high and low points (hopefully not high tackles) than at thee Paddock.

RUGBY WORLD CUP COMPETITION

With the Rugby World Cup starting this weekend, we’re launching a number of competitions for our minis and youth players to participate in. Don’t miss the opportunity to win some special prizes and make sure you read the weekly updates for the next competition.

This week, we’re asking our Minis to design their very own Sevenoaks Rugby Kit. All you have to do is 1. Download the template to the right (or find some limited hard copies in the Clubhouse)

2.Have your mini colour in the template in their amazing design

3. Take a photo of thee design and send it to henley.srfc@gmail.com

The competition is only open to members of Sevenoaks RFC and entries need to be submitted before 22nd September 2023

DON’T FORGET TO REGISTER ON GMS AND PAY CLUB MEMBERSHIP ASAP

As is the case every year, we need you to complete two important actions as soon as possible at the start of the season.

ACTION 1 - REGISTRATION

Log in directly to GMS  here https://gms.rfu.com/GMS/ to ensure your child is insured to pay (for festivals, training and matches), help the RFU to direct support and funding, and help the Club meet its mandatory requirements.

ACTION 2 - MEMBERSHIP

You should have received a message and payment request via Spond in respect of this year’s membership subscription which is now due. Membership is a pre-requisite for club insurance for playing and coaching, so its vital that it is paid promptly.

NEW TACKLE HEIGHT REGULATIONS

Many of you will have seen lots of press concerning the new rules on the Tackle Height in rugby - all of our coaches will have familiarised themselves with the rules themselves as well as the supporting information from the RFU on how to coach the new rules.

We’d also invite parents and players who to have a look at the information provided here.

HELP US TO GET MORE CHILDREN ACTIVE & PLAYING RUGBY - LIKE & SHARE

Our purpose is to get children playing rugby, so we’re always open to new players of any age and ability. We’d appreciate it if you could help us to get more children playing rugby:

i. Follow the Club on Facebook and Instagram and like and share Club posts - starting with the video here.

ii. Invite any friends and family members who are interested in playing sport/getting fit/trying something new to come and try out rugby - Reception to Infinity!
