Taking on Maidstone in our first ever league encounter away was alway going to be daunting, but our pre season friendlies really paid off. We were nervy in the first 15 minutes, spilling the ball a few times with the tryline beckoning. Luckily we didn’t rue those missed opportunities because we really started to play with belief and at the half had scored 3 very good tries. The half time score being 5-17.
The second half kicked off with us racing ahead with 3 quick tries and we were soon 32-5 ahead. Maidstone came back at us in the last quarter scoring 2 tries and the final score being 15-32 in our favour. This was the perfect start to the league season and we now sit top of the league with Sheppey at home as our next opponents on the 13th of October. We hope to have a big crowd come down and support us for that first match.
