Sevenoaks sent a mixed A/B team to play a friendly against Reigatians, who are one of the strongest teams in Surrey and known for playing open running rugby.  Although Sevenoaks put Reigate under a lot of pressure early on, they managed to absorb the pressure and by playing at a frantic pace with excellent handling and creating overlaps, scored 2 tries to nil in the first section (15 minutes) of the match.  After a good team talk, Sevenoaks managed to slow the game down and through excellent play by especially the forwards, scored 2 tries against 1 in the second section of the game.  The third and final section of the game delivered some excellent running from both teams with numerous chances going begging with Sevenoaks just not being able to score the killer try.  Reigate came back to score a try to win the final section 1-0, which made the final score 4-2.

The game was played in an excellent spirit and our boys learned some good lessons playing against a team who plays a completely different style to what our players are used to.  All our boys played well and can be proud of their performance during and after the game.

The team consisted of:

W Baker, A Blackmore, O Burgess, R Dixon, O Ebsworth, W Francombe, A Holden, A Killick, F Kitchen, S Lay, M Lindsay, S Lenaghan, O Maynard (captain), R Millett, A Skein, B Smith, L Thomas, J Wilson
