The Sevenoaks u12s A team visited their “rivals” Tunbridge Wells on a muddy and wet field, represented by the following boys:

Baker, Gilbey, Millet, Smith, Killick, Kitchen, Wilson, Avery,   Box, Brooke, Gollan, Johnson, Lindsay, Maynard, Parker, Pearl

The game started at a frantic pace and after Tunbridge Wells being pinned down in their own half, a few excellent runs from Brett Smith ended with him scoring the first try in the corner.  Tunbridge Wells then took control of the game with clever kicks and kept Sevenoaks bogged down in their half and scored after ill-discipline by Sevenoaks.  Tunbridge Wells added a second try after a quick tap and go caught Sevenoaks napping.  Sevenoaks fought back and scored another 3 tries, to win the match 4-2.

A tightly fought game played in a good spirit and excellent preparation for the Kent finals starting next week.

This Sunday also saw our mighty B team host a big and physical Tunbridge Wells B's at the Paddock. Game play was split into four nine minute quarters where our boys excelled across all the quarters and all over the pitch. The following boys represented Sevenoaks Under 12 B's:

Daly, Hansen, Hedger, Latrobe, Satrettin, Skein, L Thomas, F Thomas, Blackmore, Ebsworth, Francombe, Hewitt, Holden, Lay, Lenaghan, Rumsey, Shoobridge, Waller, Clarke

The first quarter saw our boys romp to a comfortable 4 tries to the good, seeing some excellent game play from the forward to the backs, with some immense play shown by La Trobe.

The second quarter saw our boys add to that lead with the visitors beginning to tighten up their defence. Sevenoaks were firmly camped in the Tunbridge Wells half and there was some stand-out performances by Skein, Waller and both Thomas boys.

The third quarter saw our boy further to add to the lead with our visitors gaining one try against the run of play. Our forwards produced an amazing set piece straight from the training ground which culminated in a fantastic try which further showed our dominance over Tunbridge Wells.

The final quarter our boys ran out and dominated across the pitch bringing our final tally to 8 tries. Our backs combined to produce some fantastic game play switching from side to side,  evading challenges and offloading the ball, with Lenaghan conducting the play.

At the end, Sevenoaks won 8-1 with 8 different try scorers in what was a very convincing display. Well done!
