Saracens camp starts season in style

The largest Saracens Junior Training Camp in the UK took place at Knole Paddock on Thursday and Friday 27 and 28 August. The event was kindly supported by our Club sponsor Sanlam.

Saracens coaches and various players from the Saracens and the Oaks taking part. The camp coincided with Girls Rugby Camp, run by U20 England International Scarlet Cooper-Wall.

The two day event is designed to foster young talent, both girls and boys. Scarlet, Saracens and Sanlam, who presented every player with an impressive goody bag, were full of praise for the players and the way they approached the sessions with both enthusiasm and commitment. They also said how much they enjoyed the Camp.

The Mighty Oaks and other Clubs' players who attended the camp now look forward to their 2015/16 season with new and renewed skills to bring to the fore.

First Aid training with Peak Skills

Junior coaches join Director of Rugby in specialist first aid training with Peak Skills

Inspired by the first aid training in September for representatives from all age groups, the Under 10s organised a dedicated session in November.

Eight Under 10s coaches and parents were joined by our own Director of Rugby, Roger McKerlie and the Under 8s for an outstanding session run by Peak Skills over two evenings. As well as the standard components of first aid training, extra time was given to handling rugby-related injuries.

The feedback on the quality of the course was very good, and all who took part would recommend the training .

For further information contact Roger Bartlett, Under 10s coach, who kindly organised the session. Our thanks to Peak Skills for outstanding quality instruction.
