Sevenoaks B's Against Beccehamian

Our boys came up against a very strong and physical Beccehamian’s team who’s combined pack weight doubled ours. Our boys were absolutely fearless in the tackle, tackling and stopping players twice their body weight. This was impressive stuff and made our spectators immensely proud of the team display. Our boys won all but two of all the scrums including the defensive scrums.

In the first half our boys went ahead 12-0 in the first 20 mins, with quick ball through the forwards, what our pack lacked in weight they made up in having bundles of skill, energy and determination to dominate the opposition. Our boys were camped out in the hosts 22 for the majority of the game going in at half time 12-7 in the ascendancy.

Our hosts came back incredibly strong in the second half to level the score with our boys playing into the sun and wind. Our hosts began to use their weight and strength advantage against us, putting some good individual performances. This was make or break time for Sevenoaks and the sheer determination of the Mighty Oaks pack shone through when our boys started to put the pressure on scoring two tries in three minutes making the score 25-12. With 5 minutes remaining Beccehamian’s had a last rally and managed to score and convert making the score 25-19. With one minute to go after the kick-off; our boys came very close to scoring with the last play of the game.

At full time our boys won 25-19. Well done to both teams who put an excellent display of rugby for all. Our boys remain undefeated in the Kent Cup B competition. What a way to sign off 2019.
