Sevenoaks 1 won all their games very comfortably. The rucking was top class which meant we had a big possession advantage. That enabled our backs to run with the ball despite the fact that pitches were small.
Hamish was magical, a rugby genius, going through gaps which were just not there.
Ben has transformed into a top class forward with his power runs and solid defence.
Gerran was a star as always, solid in every aspect.
Jonny had a number of good runs and competed well for the ball.
Monty’s fullback play rescued the team on many occasions when the team was under pressure; he also ran well with the ball.
Kyle’s pace was dazzling as usual, but today his defensive skills proved to be as strong.
Freddie gained many meters with his running, a great day for him.
Oliver was excellent at scrumhalf, keeping the ball alive. He was also strong in rucking.
Taylor had a number of storming runs, despite a knock early on. He was tremendous.
Ed’s defence was exceptional; often try-saving.
JC’s ‘hooking’ gave us an advantage at the scrum; he also had a great outing scoring a few.
Unfortunately Max suffered from a bad cold and had to leave after the first match. In the short time he spent on the pitch his class was evident as always.
A true all round performance with very few handling errors despite the sub-zero conditions. We had compliments from many of the opposition coaches... Well done team!!
Sevenoaks 2 were also undefeated. It was particularly pleasing to note a second half performance against a dogged Westcombe park where the team began at 1-1 and ran out 4-1 winners through three exceptional team tries. The offloading, support, rucking and direct running meant that all 9 players on the pitch touched the ball or were involved across those three scores. Phenomenal to watch.
