On an overcast day, the Sevenoaks U14 A’s hosted Beckenham at the paddock for the first round of the Kent Cup 2019-20 campaign. The following boys represented our team:

Barratt, Brooke, Ebsworth, Gollan, Keenor, Lay, Lindsay, Maynard, Pearl, Smith, Baker, Beaufoy, Daly, Dixon, Holland, Johnson, Kitchen, Latrobe, Skein, Wilson

Our boys started the game with determination, power and guile to shock our visitors with a commanding 19-0 lead in 12 minutes. Firmly camped inside the Beckenham 22, Sevenoaks unleashed wave-after-wave of attacking play with the visitors unable to stop the breach in their defence which took the score to 38-0 by half time.

The second half started much like the first, however our visitors were now better organised and went some way in stopping the attacks. Our forwards continued to dominate the play and our backs impressed with free flowing rugby, bringing the training ground moves into match play. This was a delight to watch. Three more tries and two further conversions brought the final score to 57-nil. We had five different try scorers and Lindsay converted 6 out of 9, which was exceptional.

Well done boys.
