A timid start to the festival, meeting a strong and well drilled Tunbridge Wells squad. An improvement during the second half was noticeable, with fewer tries conceded. Although the scores never went our way, we were impressed with the “never give up” attitude of the entire squad, who worked together and kept on trying to push on forward against the opposition.
Coaching points worked on during small breaks between matches and at half times, were taken on board by the players, and we continued to see improvement from them all throughout the festival. Whilst we did not see the results we would have all hoped for, an encouraging first tournament for many of the players with noticeable improvement for all match by match.
