Oaks u15s were up against Medway in the Kent Plate Final. Oaks got off to a flying start by breaking through the Medway defence within the first couple of minutes. The second try one was on technical beauty; the back row collecting the ball in their own 22, pushing forward 10 yards, sucking in the defence before unleashing the backs with super quick hands and allowing the winger to sprint home. Despite giving away too many penalties at the breakdown, Medway could not capitalise or hold out Oaks who scored a further 3 tries. A rare lapse in defence did allow Medway to score but at HT Oaks were 33-5 up. The second half was a bit scrappy with Oaks still conceding needless penalties and Medway did score another try. But as the game progressed, Oaks were still strong against a tiring Medway team. Another 3 tries, the last another technically perfect execution in creating space and then quickly getting the ball wide.

At the final whistle, Oaks were 48-12 winners. A great performance with an aggressive defence, slick handling, cohesive team play and deadly finishing. Well done to all involved!
