Steve and Trish Dalton, parents of Finn in our U9s Minis are fortunate enough to be the other side of a long and challenging year.  In Feb 2015 Trish was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer.  But thanks to modern medicine, fantastic doctors and surgeons, the Dalton family are back on track.  Rugby served to be a healthy distraction and an important part of continuity of life for such a young boy, whose parents’ aim was to keep Finn’s life as normal as possible while always reassuring him about the great help she was getting from the doctors to get better.

Steve is now hoping to raise some money to put back in to the system that served the family so well.  Along with fellow walkers in the Chevening Pilgrims, they will walk the South Downs Way over 4 days - a marathon distance per day - to raise money for Cancer Research UK.  Cancer impacts everybody either directly or indirectly and Steve sees this as an opportunity to invest in future care and hopefully a cure for this terrible disease.
