The As won 5-0 with tries from Smith, Gollan x2, Lindsay and Shoobridge. The foundations were laid with a strong tackling and rucking display by the forwards with good finishing by the backs in tricky windy conditions.  It was great to see all the work at the Paddock put into practice in the first proper test of the season. Well done to all the boys.

The B team was represented by:

Hewitt   Latrobe   Daly   Skein   F. Thomas   L. Thomas   Wilson   Blackmore   Box   Dalton   Ebsworth   Francombe   Holden   Lenaghan   Rumsey   Waller

Sevenoaks B team turned out for their first away match as juniors and what a performance to kick off the season.  Playing against a well drilled Westcombe Park team, Sevenoaks played out of their skins and rucked and mauled the opposition off the ball and then recycled the ball to score a number of memorable team tries where the majority of the team handled the ball.  The final score was 9-0 and the tries were scored by Frank Rumsey, Tom Hewitt, Jack Wilson, Rory Dalton (x2), Finlay Thomas, Joseph Box, Liam Thomas and Alex Holden.  The excellent team and competitive spirit was evident until the end when WP’s huge Front Row Forward received the ball in full flight with 3 minutes to go and nearly ran the length of the pitch with all the Sevenoaks players in pursuit trying to stop him.  The team did not give up and it was the brave Olly Ebsworth who finally managed to bring him down 5m from the try line and in the ensuing penalty for WP, the team stood together again to stop the huge player in his tracks and win back the ball and thereby ensuring that they weren’t going to concede a try even though they have already secured the win.  An excellent performance by the team and they can all be very proud of the very entertaining rugby they have dished up for the parents and coaches.

Well done boys you've done us proud again.
