Last weekend snow and ice prevented several matches from taking place but there was no stopping the 1st XV. The lads travelled to Dover Sharks for their second London 1 South match of the year and bagged an impressive 25 - 7 victory.

Head Coach Adam Bowman was pleased with the response from his players commenting, "'It is great to get a win under our belts and our performance today is a good base level for us to work from. I'd like to also offer congratulations to Danny Vaughan as well from all of us here at Sevenoaks Rugby on his appointment as Head Coach at Dover.  We wish them well for the rest of the season and will be keeping an eye on their results."

On Sunday only one Junior match was played, which saw Sevenoaks Academy beat Park House Academy 32-0 - great result lads!

Here's to you, Ron
We are very sad to announce that Ron Standen has passed away. As Howard Pearl notes, "Ron was our Head Coach for four seasons 2003/04, 2004/05 and 2005/06 and then again in 2008/09.  During this time he guided Oaks to our last promotion before last season from Level 7 to 6 in 2004/05.

"Ron made many enduring friends when he was with us and even after he stopped coaching he and his wife Pat often came up to watch matches and exercise their dogs at the same time. Ron’s main club was Dartfordians for whom he played many seasons and he won his County cap while with them."

There will be a one minute silence to remember Ron, a true rugby man and a top bloke through and through, before Saturday's match. The funeral will be held at Eltham Crematorium on Wednesday 15 February at 12:30pm then at Dartfordians RFC. Rest in peace, Ron, and travel well.
