Sevenoaks Rugby is a family club with a longstanding commitment to rugby's teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship values.

We updated members several months ago at our AGM in relation to a missing sum of cash from the Club shop.  The statement is repeated in full below, highlighting the steps put in place since then. Our Club will make no further comment on this matter until it is legally resolved.

Sevenoaks Rugby AGM 25 June 2016, The Club Shop
We feel it right to report to members, that over a period of about five months last season, a quantity of cash has gone missing from the Club shop takings.

As you may know, the shop is run as an informal franchise by Bat & Ball Sports and the Club does not share in the receipts of the shop except for a small amount of second hand kit and calendar sales.

The police are currently investigating the matter, which the Club takes very seriously, as the sum involved is considerable – about £9,000 due to Bat & Ball Sports, and £1,100 to the Club.

Bat & Ball Sports have indicated their commitment to continue operating the shop in the future, taking several new security and cash-reporting measures, including employing their own staff to run the shop [these steps have now been taken]. We are also hoping to relocate the shop upstairs, which should make it both more visible and accountable [this step has also now been taken].

We are sure that members will understand why we are unable to answer questions about this matter yet – the Management Team has many of its own – but as soon as the police investigation is concluded, we will report its outcome.
